Community Role Play

Community role play allows children to explore the wider world beyond the home, helping them understand different roles, responsibilities and places within their community. Through imaginative play, children can act out real-life situations and begin to develop an awareness of how people work together.

Our community role play range includes a variety of open-ended resources designed to support exploration of jobs, services and everyday community settings. These resources encourage discussion, cooperation and creative thinking in early years environments.

This range is ideal for supporting early understanding of society, relationships and communication through imaginative play.

Exploring the Wider World Through Role Play

Community role play helps children make sense of the world around them by encouraging curiosity about familiar places and people. Through role play, children can practise communication, develop empathy and build confidence as they explore different perspectives and experiences.

These resources are well suited to role play areas, themed learning activities and continuous provision, offering flexible opportunities for children to engage in imaginative, collaborative play.
