Athletics are sporting events done on track or field which include a variety of running races, jumping and throwing events. Running events are often split into three categories including splints, middle distance and long distance whilst field events are split into throwing and jumping competitions. Throwing events include shot put, discus, javelin and hammer throw whilst jumping events include the long jump and triple jump.
Athletics day for schools is a great way to encourage children to engage in physical activity and develop friendly competition between children, getting them to strive for their best performances.
