Easter is just around the corner, and it’s the perfect time to get children involved in fun, hands-on craft activities. Crafts aren’t just entertaining—they help develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and creative thinking in young children. Whether you’re looking for simple DIY projects for toddlers or more detailed crafts for older kids, these Easter ideas will spark imagination and create lasting memories.

In this guide, we’ll explore 5 exciting Easter crafts for children: from making a festive wreath to designing your own Easter basket. Each activity is easy to follow, uses simple materials you probably already have at home, and is perfect for a rainy spring afternoon or a classroom project.

1. Easter Wreath Making

Create a festive Easter wreath to brighten up your home!

You will need:

How to:

  1. Start by downloading your Easter egg colouring in template
  2. Colour and decorate the eggs however you like and then carefully cut them out
  3. Cut out the centre part of your paper plate to create a small wreath shape (we recommend folding the plate in half and cutting out a semi-circle to make this step easier).
  4. Finally, stick your eggs around the plate wreath in any arrangement you like and hang up your beautiful Easter wreath!

2. Easter Trinket Dish

Perfect for holding Easter eggs or small treats.

You will need:

How to:

  1. Start by deciding which Easter themed objects you want to create – we went for an Easter egg, a bunny, a chick and a carrot
  2. Next, take your clay and get moulding! This is a great activity to exercise those fine motor skills.
  3. Once you have shaped your trinket dish, leave it to dry overnight.
  4. Once the dish is dry you can get decorating with paints or even collage materials depending on your chosen design.

3. Easter Push Pin Art

A creative way to make colourful spring designs.

You will need:

How to:

  1. Start by layering your cardboard, coloured paper and template. Secure in place with a paper clip
  2. Then, carefully follow the lines of the template with the drawing pin, pushing down through the layers
  3. Once you've finished, remove the coloured paper and hold it up to the light to see your Easter masterpiece!

4. DIY Easter Basket

A classic Easter activity for collecting treats.

You will need:

How to:

  1. Using PVA glue, stick one lolly stick along the edge of your chosen coloured paper
  2. Stick another 2 lolly sticks parallel to the first and finish off with two at the top and bottom to complete the square.
  3. Cut out your coloured card square.
  4. Repeat this process until you have 5 sides to stick together and create your basket!

5. Jumping Rabbit Craft

Spring into Easter with this bouncing Bunny craft!

You will need:

How to:

  1. Start your craft off by decorating your cup into a bunny face. We added eyes, a nose, mouth and whiskers as well as two ears crafted from paper
  2. Next, poke two holes at the bottom of your decorated cup and thread your elastic band through. Secure in place with two toothpicks either side.
  3. Finally push your bunny down on top of a second cup and see how high it bounces!
