“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted” – Aesop
#extraswithEYR was born in 2021 to raise awareness of the charities that we have served over the years and to celebrate our achievements as a team
Over the years, our external relationships have blossomed, contributing to who we are today.
By raising vital funds for charities and providing a platform to unheard individuals such as PhD students and parent bloggers, we have enriched our outputs whilst supporting important research and new-found knowledge surrounding children’s education.
Despite being a small company, Early Years Resources has a commitment to the concept of “little and often”. This means that we are constantly on the lookout for opportunities where we can contribute to charities in need, whether this be donations of time, money, or resources, we are always on board.
Our combined strength and beliefs have allowed us to outdo ourselves each and every time, discover some of our latest donations below.
Hospice Donations – August 2021
In August 2021 we went to visit our friends over at Francis House, Derrian House and Ronald McDonald House. Each of these charities offer care for children and young adults who have life limiting or life threatening conditions and provide essential support for the families involved.
We gifted a total of 3 pallets or around 75 boxes of our party stock including decorations, tableware, hats, piñatas and more to the fantastic teams at each of these locations so that the very best celebrations can be put together to commemorate each and every joyful event with the children and their families and make their experience the best it can be.
It was great to meet with the amazing Hospice staff and learn more about all that they do for the children they care for.
“On behalf of the children and families at Francis House Children’s Hospice I would like to thank you for the recent donation of party items – I am still wading through it all! I am confident that all this will be put to good use and bring a smile to many faces” – Julie Williams, Fundraising Officer

Wear it Pink – October 2020
In October 2020, we all donned something pink in support of Breast Cancer Now’s Wear it Pink Day, an event we have supported for years. This day takes place during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and is vital to raise money and awareness of such a fantastic charity.
Breast Cancer Now is an organisation that conducts research into secondary breast cancer, from finding ways to stop the cancer spreading, to finding more effective ways to treat it, supports those with secondary breast cancer, and demands change for people with secondary breast cancer to ensure the right support, treatment and care is available.
Wear it Pink allowed us as a company to learn more about the organisation and raise money for them through the quizzes and dressing up in something pink. Together we managed to raise £99 which was then matched by the company bringing our total to £198.
Macmillan Coffee Morning – September 2020
Macmillan Cancer Support is a well-known charity nationwide that works to understand the needs and experiences of people living with cancer and uses this research to develop and influence better care and services. They help to change policies and work with the government to improve the lives of these people living with cancer.
The Macmillan coffee morning has naturally been an obvious choice for us to get involved in year after year and raise as many funds as possible for such an amazing charity. It is a great way to bring our small but mighty team together and get stuck into the quizzes, games and baking activities, all the while drawing attention to the charity and the amazing work that they do.
Our team managed to raise £82 this year which was then matched pound for pound by the company, bringing our grand total to £164.00. Vital funds that went to an absolutely fantastic cause. We can’t wait to join Macmillan again in 2021!
#HelloYellow for Young Minds – October 2020
Here in Manchester, October was one of many peaks of the coronavirus pandemic and therefore was a more important time than ever to bring a little sunshine into our lives and raise awareness and vital funds for a charity that provides support to young people, especially at such a crucial time.
Young Minds is a charity that works tirelessly to ensure that all young people can get the mental health support that they need, when they need it. Hello Yellow is a campaign that Young Minds started as a way of showing young people that they are not alone with their mental health and to raise funds to continue to support the work they do.
Here at EYR headquarters we all donned something yellow and took part in fundraising activities to raise a total of £40 for the young minds charity.
