Children’s Craft Activities for Easter

It’s that time of year where bunnies, chicks and eggs are popping up everywhere and it can only mean one thing… Easter is here!

The big day is just around the corner and it’s time to start thinking about Craft activities for Easter.

Celebrating Easter in your setting

For some, Easter is a day to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. For others, it’s more about eggs, bunnies, and, of course, lots and lots of chocolate!

Maybe for your setting, it’s a little bit of both. But regardless of your reason for celebrating, one thing remains the same… the never-ending list of Easter crafts for kids (and adults).

This time of the year is a great reason to get out all of your arts and crafts supplies for children to practise their fine motor skills. From handling safety scissors to cut straight lines, to colouring in a section on a piece of paper – the below activities are all great ways for the children to master control of their motor skills.

So, here’s some of our top craft activities for Easter!

Mini lollypop chick

You will need…

  1. Start by taking 5 lolly sticks and painting them yellow.
  2. Once dried, place the coloured side face down and using a bit of cello tape secure the sticks together.
  3. Next, cut a beak and some feet out of orange felt and then cut the wings and hair out of the yellow felt.
  4. Secure these parts with some glue or cello tape.
  5. Finally, glue on some wiggly eyes!

Easter bunny mask

You will need…

  1. Begin with a jumbo lolly stick and paint it in with colour of your choice! Make sure you leave a little space at the top.
  2. Paint the blank space at the top pink, this is for the bunny’s nose.
  3. Next, cut out some teeth on white paper, using a black pen to outline the shape of the teeth.
  4. Glue the teeth onto the stick where the two colours meet.
  5. Add some white pipe cleaners for the whiskers and secure to the lolly stick.
  6. Finally, glue two white pompoms on top of where the pipe cleaners were stuck.
