Cardboard Lanterns – Halloween Crafts

To create these quick and easy Halloween Lanterns you will need:

Making your Halloween Lanterns

  1. Cut sections of cardboard nesting tubes or kitchen roll tubes to a variety of lengths. The length of the pieces will determine the height of your lanterns. Ours measured approx. 15cm, 8cm plus a full length tube.
  2. Paint each section of tube (inside and out) in orange paint (we used acrylic for a shiny finish). Leave to dry.
  3. When dry, take a pair of scissors and cut slits into the middle section of each piece of tube. Leave a section at the top and bottom uncut. For the handle, make two holes opposite each other and thread through a length of orange pipe cleaner or just snip into the top as shown.

Not quite Halloween, but used this idea for summer lanterns. Great for summer parties and outdoor activites.
