Construction and building, with bricks or blocks, is an essential part of children’s formative and physical development. At Early Years Resources, we have sourced an extensive range of children’s construction toys with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in mind. Simple wooden building blocks allow very young children to learn about balance as they stack bricks, before progressing to more creative blocks and building with simple construction sets. Natural wooden contruction blocks and giant hollow blocks are a great way to develop gross motor skills through play, both indoors and outdoors. To add another dimension to constructing, we have included a wide range of magnetic construction sets as well as some well known brands such as Lego Duplo, Sticklebricks, Mobilo and Polydron.
